Well I know the answer now thanks to Tanya and her brilliant wiki-research. Thanks Tdawg, I'm learning so many interesting things about my St. Louis friends! I don't know if I know 7 people who blog who haven't been "memed" but we'll see how it goes.

Here are the rules:
1. Link to your tagger and post these rules on your blog.
2. Share 7 facts about yourself on your blog, some random, some weird.
3. Tag 7 people at the end of your post by leaving their names as well as links to their blogs.
4. Let them know they are tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.

Seven Facts:

1. I am a coffee addict. I tried to stop drinking coffee in the morning and replaced it with tea for about 3 days. I did alright, but then I decided that I enjoy coffee way too much and I don't care if I'm addicted. There are worse addictions you can have, right?

2. I have a tattoo but I'm afraid of needles. I have been known to pass out when I'm having blood drawn, but seemed to do alright with the tattoo. I did have two people holding my hand the whole time.

3. Speaking of fears, I have an irrational fear of snakes! My neighbor called to borrow an ax one night because there was a snake under his porch. At this time we lived in a basement condo. So I locked the doors and the windows so the snake wouldn't be able to get into the house. I'm pretty sure that was good idea, snakes are sneaky little buggers. Oh, my neighbor did kill the snake.

4. I have two in-laws as of this year, it's very exciting. My sister and brother both got married. My sister's husband's name is Jon, giving our family a total 4 men named Jon at family gatherings, 5 when my counsin's boyfriend is in town.

5. I built something this year! Kinda...I installed this hanging rod thing in my wardrobe and so far my clothes are still hanging and I have all ten fingers and toes. This is impressive from the girl who had to borrow the drill and look up how to attach the drill bits on howstuffworks.com

6. I never name my cars, but I did name my guitar. Her name is Daisy, please don't be fooled by the Sunflower guitar strap she wears, that was a gift from someone who didn't know her name. It's a little confusing at times, for both of us. The car I drive now is named Isabelle, I call her Bella or sometimes I call her Isa. This may be confusing since I already said I don't name my cars, but I inherited Isa from my brother and he names everything. I don't want to un-name her because that would just be mean.

7. You know how in college Thursday night was always part of the weekend? Well senior year I didn't have classes on Fridays so it was a very legitimate part of my weekend. Well I never really recovered from that "the weekend starts on Thursday night" mindset and have been pretty worthless in class or at work on Fridays ever since. By the way, I'm writing this on a Friday.

I meme Heather (in hopes that she may blog again), Heidi V. (my faithful commented), Brook (my little bro), Anne (cause she blogs a bit on facebook), Mike (to help represent the southwest), Julie (my fellow maryland blogger), Lindsey (to see if she'll do it)

- Moving lots of boxes into the District of Columbia where I will now be taxed but not represented. Thanks to everyone who helped!
- Eating tacos, drinking tequila and hanging out with motorcycle gangs in Mexico.
- Watching my little sister get married after the trolley caught on fire on the way to the church. Okay, that was actually in May, but it was really late May.

Last Friday night we had some wonderful spring weather here in D.C. I took the opportunity to go down to the monuments and take some pictures with Flat Stanley. Flat Stanley came to visit from St. Louis. He had a great time in D.C. Here is a picture of Flat Stanley and the Washington Monument.

Oh, and he had his hearing tested as well.

I took a copy of Hudson Taylor's biography to read on the metro. If that doesn't challenge me to be more dependent on the Lord, I don't know what will. If you haven't read it, you should. It's super short and he has an amazing life story.

After taking pictures I went over to a coffee shop in D.C. to here this guy. He was fantastic and he played with this girl, who is equally fantastic. When they played together they were fantastico! Yes, that is what you get when you ad fantastic + fantastic. Alright, I think it's getting to late for me to write much more that makes sense.

2) Watch all of the Jane Austen movies on PBS. This one may prove to be a little more challenging since we don't have a TV.

So they're not life changing, but they're more attainable than things like "keep up on all my reading for school". Oh, I also considered coming up with resolutions that rhyme with the year. Here are the ones I came up with:

Reasons why my blog has been neglected...

1) Commuting takes up too much of my time. I've been reading a lot on the train which is nice and I listen to C-Span now, because I'm a nerd.

2) I live near my family now! This is the most exciting part of my move back to the east coast. I'm working on this post while watching the West Virginia game with my parents and sister.

3) I should also mention that I live near my college friends who are just great.

4) Card games. Tom and Alyson have taught me to play Skip Bo and a bunch of other card games. Skip Bo is my favorite, because I can actually win. Right now I'm slightly disturbed because I can't make sense of the name.

5) Research. More research. Then after that, more research. I should be working on my project right now, but I'm not because I value you few and faithful readers and well, I like to procrastinate.

Maybe my new year's resolution will be to create a new banner. Any suggestions?

My "little" brother got married last weekend to my wonderful new sister-in-law. It was a really beautiful wedding complete with my brother crying as Sara walked down the isle, to the ring bearer who wanted to know why he wasn't wearing a bear suit. Perhaps ring carrier would have been a more helpful title for a 3 year old.

The pastor, who my brother has known since high school, reminded us that Brook and Sara will never be enough for each other. That no matter how much they love each other, Christ is the only one who will ever completely fulfill them. He also told them to look at one another through the eyes of Christ. It was a good message for all of us to hear, married or not.

So here is a picture of the beautiful bride and the hairy groom.

My brother asked my dad to grow a beard for the blessed event. He has never had a beard in my lifetime, so I had to get a picture. My mom hated the beard, it came off the day after the wedding.

These two are next.

That's my little sister Katy and her fiance Jon, they're getting married in May if they ever decide on a reception site.

Now that I'm blogging about it, the temperature will probably return to 80 degrees tomorrow. But today it was sunny and 65. This is my favorite season! Mostly because there’s no humidity (at least in Maryland) and you know that Thanksgiving and Christmas are right around the corner. I’m still waiting for the leaves to change, which is my other favorite thing about fall.

In other news, I'm inundated with information about newborn hearing screening these days. I'm giving a very brief presentation on hearing screening to a group of undergraduates. Any ideas on how to make them interested in a topic like this?

Time to go enjoy a nice pumpkin spice latte at Starbucks. Happy fall everyone!

I blew up the kitchen...

Well, almost. I don't get along well with electric ranges. I was boiling some green beans on the front burner and there was a pyrex casserole dish on the back burner. Little did I know there was a DVD inside the pyrex casserole dish. How did I find out about the DVD? Well I heard a loud pop and when I turned around there was glass all over the kitchen, smoke coming out of the stove and burning plastic, from the DVD cover. I hear pyrex isn't supposed to explode, but that was not my experience this evening.

My mom's car was almost "stolen"...

My mom came downstairs at 11:30 this evening because she was sure there was someone in her car. She was getting ready to go outside and confront this car thief (try not to think about how potentially unsafe this might be) when I realized that her keys were sitting on the table and my pseudo-brother was playing with the key tag earlier trying to "mute" me. He managed to not only unlock, but turn on the car using the key tag. Those things work from quite a distance.

I had to watch Grey's Anatomy...

The kitchen incident this evening kept me from getting to my parents house in time to watch The Office. Fortunately, my dad threw in a tape just in time to catch most of Grey's Anatomy. I had to fast forward through an entire West Virginia football game in order to watch, but it was worth it. I was a little disappointed towards the end of the episode. We'll see what happens next week.

Last night, at the suggestion of my music guru, some friends and I went to the Rams Head Tavern in Annapolis to hear a band called The Duhks.

You can listen to their music on myspace and facebook, but just skip that part and go buy the CD, they're amazing, probably one of the best bands I've heard live.
